At 2:55pm On 11/16/16 I attended Getting Back to Basics: How to Create and Maintain Your Digital Brand presented by Mike McLaughlin | SVP & General Manager of Domains, GoDaddy at the 2016 Internet Summit located at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, NC.

Getting Back to Basics: How to Create and Maintain Your Digital Brand

mike-mclaughlinThe internet has never been more demanding. The average person now juggles an ever-expanding number of online profiles and platforms, both personal and professional, with entrepreneurs expected to have an active and engaging presence across all of them. In this fast-paced session, I learned how to put both my client and my own best foot forward online. This dovetailed succinctly with the secret to curating and vetting your digital brand, from locking down the perfect domain name to crafting consistent content.

As a participant, it is my hope to walk away with knowledge of:

  • Domains and Beyond: How to make sure your brand is properly reflected online
  • How to create consistency and avoid confusion within digital branding
  • A step-by-step guide to determining the strength of an online presence

Honestly, this presentation was slightly boilerplate, but most had to do with a clear and accurate portrayal of how godaddy uses their backend management. We did a great deal of moving through the analytics, the cPanel, and hands-on ways to run A-B testing in a working environment. Rather than deal with screenshot after screenshot, I chose to particiapte this time rather than merely report.
